Sweety Creation

Down here on 1st Main Road in Sri Kanta Layout, the shop stays pretty busy with the hum of machines. Sweety Creation is basically just a room filled with fabric scraps and half-finished projects. I spend most of my day sitting at the table cutting patterns or trying to find a matching thread in a drawer that’s overflowing with bobbins. The Ring Road is right nearby so we hear the trucks rumbling past all day long. It gets a bit noisy but you get used to it after a while. I usually have to clear a space on the counter just to write down an order or take a phone call. The walls have some old calendars hanging on them and there’s always a bit of lint floating in the air. We don’t really have a big sign outside so people usually find us by asking the neighbors. It’s not the most organized place in the world but we know where everything is kept. Most of our regulars live right around the corner and stop by when they’re walking home. We’ve got some stools for people to sit on while they wait but they’re usually covered in magazines or fabric samples. It’s just a simple setup where we work until the lights go out. I usually lock up late and walk home when the street gets a bit quieter. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and talk for a while.
