Our shop is down on the lower ground floor of the Radha Krishna Textile Market. It’s right near Sahara Darwaza on Ring Road, which is basically the busiest spot you can imagine. We are in units C-207 to 210. It’s a bit of a maze down there if you aren't used to it. The air is always thick with the smell of new fabric and the sound of people bargaining. We do our work in these four units, mostly moving syntex material around and checking what comes in. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and long hours standing on the concrete floor. We don't have a lot of time for sitting around. My father used to say that if you aren't tired at the end of the day, you didn't work hard enough. We still follow that. We aren't fancy people. We wear comfortable clothes because the work is dusty and sweaty. We know our regulars by name and we know what they need before they even ask. That’s the benefit of being in the same market for so long. We've seen businesses come and go, but we just keep doing what we do. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s honest work. When the market closes at night, we’re usually the last ones locking up. It’s just the way we operate here at the Radha Krishna market.
