Sri Pushpakamal Sarees

You can find us on the 2nd floor of the STM building on Ring Road. Shop number Z-3202 is where we spend all our time. If you’ve ever been to the Ring Road area, you know how crowded and hectic it gets with all the trucks and the laborers moving bundles. It’s a lot of noise, but it’s the heart of the cloth trade here. We deal mainly with sarees, and our space is usually filled with stacks of them from floor to ceiling. It isn’t the most organized-looking place, but we know where everything is. We started out small and just stayed here because it’s where the business happens. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations or big advertisements. Most people find us by word of mouth or by just walking through the market floors. The elevator in the building can be slow, so we often just take the stairs. It keeps us moving during the day, I guess. We talk to the other shopkeepers, share some snacks, and just get through the day's work. It’s a simple life. We aren't trying to change the world or anything, we just want to sell sarees and make enough to keep the lights on and help our families. Some days the heat in the market is quite something, but we keep the fans going and just keep folding and packing. That’s how it goes for us.
