Sky Sarees

If you go to the Millennium Textile Market on Ring Road, you’ll find us at F-1281. It’s a huge building, and it’s very easy to get lost if you don't know the wing system. We spend our days surrounded by sarees of every color you can think of. Sky Sarees is basically a hub for us to manage our stock and meet with people who are buying for their own shops. The market is always loud, there’s always someone pushing a trolley or shouting about a delivery. Our shop is packed tight with rolls of fabric and finished sarees. There isn't much room to move around, but we make it work. We’ve got a small area where we sit and talk to customers over tea. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We don't use much technology besides our phones and an old calculator. Everything is about the feel of the cloth and the way the work is finished. Sometimes the air conditioning in the market struggles when it’s really hot outside, but we just keep the fans going. It’s a hard-working environment. We get here early to beat the worst of the Ring Road traffic and we often stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, which is dealing in sarees. It's busy, but that's how we like it.
