Shree Ram Saree Centre

Our place is over at Ambika Appartment on 13th Main. If you are looking for number 4, that is us. Hongasandra is a bit of a walk from the main bus stop, but it is much quieter here than in the center of town where all the big malls are. We have got sarees almost everywhere you look. They are on the shelves, stacked on the tables, and sometimes still in the cardboard boxes they arrived in. It is a family thing for the most part. My sister helps with the people who stop by while I handle the heavy lifting and the stock. We don't have a big neon sign or anything like that, just a simple door with the name on it. People usually find us by word of mouth or because they live nearby in the Pinjrat area. It gets a bit dusty because of the road work that always seems to be happening outside, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the glass cases. On Tuesdays, we get the new shipments from the mills, and the shop is a bit of a mess for a few hours while we sort everything. We try to keep it organized, but when it gets busy, things tend to get moved around. We’ve been at this spot for several years now. It is just a ground-floor space where we keep our collection. Sometimes we sit on the steps out front when it is quiet in the late afternoon.
