Shree Govardhan Soap Factory

The soap factory we run is located on Balaji Road. If you find yourself near Surat General Hospital, you’ll see us right across the street. Our shop goes by the name Jay Jalaram Soap Shop No. 2. You can usually catch the scent of the soap before you even reach the entrance. It is a strong, clean smell that fills the whole block. Every day is spent mixing ingredients and waiting for the batches to set properly. Shree Govardhan Soap Factory isn’t one of those high-tech facilities. It is mostly just us using our hands and some older machinery. The floors tend to get a bit slick, so we have to watch our step. Being right opposite the hospital means the street is always full of people and ambulances. It gets quite loud and busy outside. Inside the shop, we just keep to our own pace. We have shelves stacked high with soap that’s drying out. When we run out of room, we just have to pile things wherever they fit. We don't bother with marketing or anything like that. We just make the soap and sell it directly to whoever comes in. It is an honest way to spend the day. The shop is small, but it’s been our home on Balaji Road for a long time now. People know where to find us when they need a supply.
