Indian Design Bazaar is right in the middle of Varachha. If you know Varachha, you know it’s a very crowded and energetic part of town. Our place is tucked into the mix of all that activity. We have been here for a bit, surrounded by other shops and people constantly moving. The space we have is filled with different designs and materials. It’s not always perfectly tidy because we are always pulling things out to show people or checking what we got in. We don't have any fancy displays or lights. It’s just the goods and us. Most of the day is spent talking to people who come in looking for something specific. Keeping an eye on the door is necessary because it gets busy fast. Sometimes the noise from the street makes it hard to hear, but we manage. We aren't a big corporation with a lot of rules. We just come in, do the work, and go home. The local vibe of the market and the way everyone knows each other is nice. It’s a lot of manual counting and moving things around. Not much is spent on advertising because people just find us while they are out shopping in the bazaar anyway. It’s a straightforward business and we just take it one day at a time. It gets hot in the afternoons but the tea stays cold. There is always someone walking by with a cart.
