Shilp Kala Kendra

We are located at Shilp Kala Kendra, right on Nanpura Main Road. Our shop is very close to J C Munsi School, so we get a lot of noise from the school bells and the parents picking up their kids. It’s a good, central spot in Nanpura. We deal with various kinds of art and craft items. The shop is a bit of a jumble, with things tucked into every corner and shelf. It’s not one of those modern, empty-looking stores. It feels more like a workshop sometimes. We spend our time checking the pieces that come in and making sure they are stored properly so they don't get damaged. People in the neighborhood know us well since we’ve been here for a long time. They stop by to see what's new or just to have a quick chat. We don't really do much advertising; word of mouth has always worked for us. The building itself is older, which fits the kind of things we sell. There’s always something to clean or move around to make space for new arrivals. It's a quiet kind of work, very different from the big markets. We enjoy the process of looking at the items and talking to the people who make them. If you’re walking down the main road, you can't miss us near the school. It’s a very local, down-to-earth kind of place.
