Shilp Art

Shilp Art is based at 26 Ring Road in the Model Town Extension area. Since we are right on the Ring Road, we get to see the whole city driving past our front door every single day. It is a loud place because of the cars and trucks, but you stop noticing the noise after a few hours. We focus on the art side of things here. The space is usually a bit of a mess with supplies and projects that are halfway finished. I think an art place should look like people are actually working in it, not like a hospital. Model Town is a good neighborhood and we have some nice regulars who come by to check on what we are making. Sometimes we stay late when a project is proving to be a bit difficult to finish. The lighting in the back room isn't the best, so we do most of the detailed work near the front windows. It is just me and a couple of others helping out when there is a lot to do. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing plan. People usually find us because they saw the sign while stuck in traffic or someone told them about us. It is a modest way to earn a living, but it keeps us creative and busy. We don't worry too much about the corporate stuff, we just like making things that people want to put in their homes or offices.
