Shayar Restaurant

You can find us on the Udhna Magdala Road in Surat, right across from the Megh Malhar Complex. We are near the Mahaveer Timber market, which is a very busy part of the city. Shayar Restaurant is a place where a lot of workers and local business people come to eat during their break. The road outside is always full of traffic and the sound of horns, so it’s a very lively atmosphere. We have been operating here for some time now. Our kitchen starts early in the morning to get everything ready for the day. It’s a lot of chopping and stirring, and it gets quite warm inside when all the stoves are going. We don't try to be anything we aren't; it's just a straightforward restaurant for people who want a hot meal. We see a lot of the same people every single day, and you get to know their names and their families after a while. It’s nice to have that connection with the neighborhood. The tables are usually full by mid-day, and we all have to hustle to keep up with the orders. Sometimes we run out of a certain dish by the afternoon, and we just have to tell people to try something else. We just keep doing our work and making sure the food is ready for whoever walks through the door. It’s a busy spot but we like the energy of the timber market and the people who work there.
