Sharda Saree is tucked into the Millennium Textile Market on Ring Road. Our specific spot is B-1059/60. This market is huge, and it’s easy to get lost in the hallways. We are surrounded by other shops, all doing similar things. Every day we arrive and start unfolding and refolding sarees. It’s a never-ending cycle. The air smells like new fabric and sometimes the tea from the stall downstairs. We have two units, 1059 and 1060, so we have a bit of room to move, but sarees take up a lot of space when you have hundreds of them. The Ring Road area is always jammed with trucks and rickshaws. You can hear the horns honking all day long. Inside the market, it’s a bit cooler but still very busy. We talk to customers, show them the different patterns, and try to keep everything from becoming a giant pile on the floor. It’s honest work. Some days are long, especially during the wedding seasons when everyone is looking for something. We don't have a big corporate office or anything. It’s just us, the sarees, and the shelves. We’ve been in this spot in Millennium Textile Market for quite a while. We know the corners and the shortcuts through the building. It’s a living. We just keep folding and selling, day in and day out, in this busy part of the city. There is always more fabric to move and more people to help.
