We are located right on Ring Road, which is probably one of the busiest streets you could find. Sharanam Sarees Private Limited has been here for a while, right in the middle of all the chaos. Ring Road is always jammed with cars, rickshaws, and people looking for textiles. Our shop is filled from floor to ceiling with sarees of all kinds. It’s a lot to manage, and we spend most of our time unfolding and refolding the fabric. It’s a never-ending job for us. The noise from the street is constant, but we’ve learned to talk over it. We aren't a big fancy company with a lot of rules; we just run the shop and try to keep things moving. Sometimes it gets so crowded in here that you can barely walk between the piles of stock. We don't have any polished sales pitches or anything like that. We just show the sarees and tell people the price and the material. It’s an honest way to spend the day. In the afternoons, we take turns going out to get some snacks or tea from the vendors on the corner. The heat on Ring Road can be pretty bad in the middle of the day, so we stay inside as much as we can. It’s just us, the sarees, and the sound of the traffic outside. That’s our life here.
