Sarwamangla Fabrics

Down in GIDC Sachin, things are a bit different than the city shops. We are at Plot No. 705 in Room Number 7. It is an industrial area, so there are a lot of trucks moving in and out and the sound of machinery is pretty much constant. Sarwamangla Fabrics is where we handle all the big rolls and the heavy work that comes with being in an industrial zone. The air smells like oil and dust, and the floor is concrete. It is not the kind of place you come to browse, it is where the real work happens. We have been in Sachin for a bit, and we are used to the pace here. The room isn't very big, so we have to be smart about how we stack the fabrics so they don't fall over. We spend our days checking the quality and making sure the counts are right. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially when the machines next door are running full tilt. We usually have the radio playing in the corner to break up the noise of the fans. It is a straightforward operation. No fancy office, just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of cloth. We get here early, do our shift, and make sure everything is locked up tight before we head out for the evening. Sometimes the power goes out, so we keep some flashlights handy to keep things moving along until it comes back.
