We are located out in GIDC Sachin on Road Number 6. If you are looking for us, the big new water tank is the best landmark to use, otherwise you might get lost in all these industrial blocks. Our place is right across from Laxmivila, and it is a typical factory-style setup. We handle fabrics all day, and it is a lot of heavy lifting and moving rolls around. The noise from the other units on this road is constant—lots of machines humming and trucks idling outside. It is not the cleanest place in the world, with all the lint and dust from the textiles flying around, but that is just how it is in Sachin. We do not have a fancy office or a receptionist. Usually, whoever is nearest to the door is the one who talks to you. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the cloth and making sure the yardage is right. The road outside is usually bumpy and full of potholes, especially when it rains. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready. It is hard work and the hours are long, but we are used to it. Sometimes the neighbors come over to borrow a tool or just to complain about the heat. It is a community of workers here, and we are just one part of it, doing our bit with the fabrics every day.
