Sai Skambari Saree

You can find our shop at 101/102 on Varachha Road. It’s a busy street and there is always something going on outside our door. We’ve been here for a while, selling sarees to the local community. The shop is a simple place where we keep our stock and talk to the people who walk in. We don't have any fancy sales pitch. We just show what we have on the racks and let the cloth speak for itself. Some days are very slow and we just sit and talk, and other days we don't even have time to eat lunch. Varachha Road has changed a lot over the years, but we are still in the same spot. We have two units side by side, which gives us a bit more room to breathe, but it still feels small when we get a big shipment in. We handle everything ourselves, from cleaning the floors in the morning to locking up late at night. The lighting isn't the best, but it works for what we need. We know most of the people who live around here. They stop by not just to buy, but sometimes just to say hello. It's a nice way to live and work. We don't worry about being the most popular shop on the street, we just focus on keeping enough variety so that everyone finds something they like. We stay open as long as the customers keep coming through the door.
