Rudraksh Sarees

Rudraksh Sarees is over in the Millennium Textile Market on Ring Road. We are sitting on the first floor in units J-3566 and 3567. If you know the market, you know it's a huge place with lots of walking. Our spot is right in the middle of all that action. We've been here long enough that we know most of the guys in the neighboring stalls. Every morning we open up, sweep the front, and start unrolling the new bundles that came in. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bags and making sure the labels are right. The lights in the corridor flicker sometimes, but we’re used to it by now. We deal with sarees mostly, obviously. People come in looking for stuff for their shops or families. We don't do much talking other than what's needed for the day’s work. Ring Road is always jammed with trucks and rickshaws, so getting here in the morning is usually a bit of a struggle. Once we're inside the market, it's its own little world. We have a couple of chairs for people to sit if they’re tired from walking the floors. It’s just a regular workplace for us. We keep the inventory moving and try to keep things organized, even when the market gets really crowded on weekends. It's just how we get through the week.
