Riddhi Suman Fabrics

Our shop is located in the Millennium Textile Market on Ring Road. We are in units D-3173, 74, 75, and 76. It’s a big space because we need the room for all the different fabrics we keep in stock. The market is always a very loud and busy place to be. You can hear the sounds of trolleys rattling on the stone floors from early in the morning. We spend a lot of time just moving rolls of cloth from one side of the unit to the other. It’s a lot of physical work and we usually go home feeling pretty tired. My cousins and I run the business together. We have been in this same spot for about ten years. The Ring Road outside is famous for its traffic jams, so getting deliveries in and out can be a real struggle sometimes. We don't have any polished sales pitches or anything like that. We just show people what we have and tell them the price. The lighting in our section isn't the best, so sometimes we have to take the fabric near the entrance to see the true color in the sunlight. We drink a lot of tea throughout the day to keep ourselves going. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is steady. We know our fabrics well and we know the people in the market. That is enough for us to keep going at Millennium Textile Market.
