Ramsha Fabrics

Our place, Ramsha Fabrics, is located at No. 51- 52 inside the Radhakrishna Industrial Society. Being in an industrial society means there is always the sound of machinery and big trucks moving around. It is not the kind of place you would go for a quiet walk. We have two units side by side, mostly filled with rolls of fabric and people moving them from one pile to another. The air is always a bit heavy with lint and the smell of new cloth. We do not have fancy chairs or a lobby; it is just a working space with concrete floors and high ceilings. Most of the time, the big metal shutter is halfway open to let some air in, even if it brings in the dust from the road. We spend a lot of time checking the meterage and looking for any defects in the rolls. It is hard work and the days are long, especially when we have a big shipment going out. The light comes in through the small windows near the roof. We eat our lunch sitting on some of the packed bales because there is not much room for a proper break area. It is a bit messy, and there is always something that needs to be moved out of the way. But that is just the daily routine at Radhakrishna. We just try to get the fabric out the door on time every week without too much fuss.
