Rajshri Creation

Working at Rajshri Creation means spending a lot of time in Shop 235 inside Adarsh Market- 2. It’s a busy spot right on Ring Road. The market is always loud, and you can hear the neighboring shops talking all day long. We have a lot of stuff packed into this small shop. Shelves go all the way to the ceiling, and sometimes we need to use the old wooden ladder to reach the top boxes that haven't been opened in months. It’s mostly just us here, making sure the orders are ready and the displays look okay. The floor is made of old tile that’s seen better days, but it holds up under all the foot traffic. We don't really do much advertising; people just walk in because they’re already in the market for something else and happen to see us. Dealing with the heat in the summer is the hardest part of the job, but we have a small cooler that helps a little bit. The tea from the stall downstairs is pretty good, so we drink a lot of that to keep going. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour, and we just wait it out in the dark talking about nothing in particular. It’s a simple life. We sell what we have, and we try to keep the books straight. Ring Road is always packed with trucks, so getting here in the morning takes longer than it should. But once the shutters are up, the day just goes by.
