Rajeshwari Saree

Rajeshwari Saree is situated at R 105 on the ground floor of the Rhoit building. We are right on Ring Road, which is pretty much the heart of the textile world here in this city. Being on the ground floor is a huge advantage for us. We don't have to deal with elevators or stairs when the heavy bundles of sarees arrive. The shop isn't very big, but we’ve managed to fit a lot of stock into the space. We have them stacked in piles all along the back wall. Every morning starts with a good cleaning because the road outside is so busy and dusty. We spend a lot of time showing different patterns to people who stop by. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting the heavy fabrics and laying them out on the counter. Sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped when there are more than two or three people inside at once. We have a small wooden bench outside for when it gets too full. The traffic on Ring Road is constant, and the sound of horns is something we’ve just learned to ignore over time. We don't have any flashy marketing or big advertisements. Most people find us because they are already walking through the market. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living for us. We just focus on the stock we have and making sure we know where each item is kept.
