Radha Saree

Our place is at number 7, right near Tulsidash Udhyan in the Bharat Industrial Estate. We are behind Aambawadi on L H Road, not too far from the lake road in Varachha. It’s a bit of a maze back here if you don’t know the turns. We’ve been working out of this spot for a long time. The garden nearby is nice for a quick break, though we don't get out there as much as we’d like. Inside the unit, it’s mostly just us and the sarees. We have stacks of them reaching up toward the ceiling sometimes. It’s a busy industrial area, so there is always the sound of machines or people shouting in the street. We just focus on our own tasks. We don't have any fancy signs or a big glass front. It’s a practical space for practical work. Some of the guys have been working here since we first opened. We know each other well and that makes the day go by faster. We handle the sarees with care, but we don't make a big fuss about it. It’s just what we do for a living. Varachha is a crowded place, but we like the energy here. There’s always something happening right outside our door. We just keep the door open to let some air in and keep working through the afternoon heat.
