R. D. Fabrics

R. D. Fabrics is on the ground floor of the Surat Textile Market. Our unit is C-1006. Being on the ground floor is good because we do not have to use the elevators, which are always full of people. The market is located on the Ring Road, so there is always a lot of noise from the heavy traffic. It is a very busy hub for textiles in this city. We have rolls of fabric stacked everywhere in the shop. Sometimes you have to squeeze through the narrow aisles to get to the back. We have been here in this market for many years now. It hasn't changed much over time, just more people and more stuff everywhere. We do not bother with fancy decorations for the walls. The shop is for working, not for looking pretty. We spend most of the morning checking the stock and the afternoon dealing with deliveries. It is a lot of physical work, lifting and moving heavy things. My back usually aches by the end of the day. We have a small fan that rattles in the corner, but it helps with the heat in the summer. We do not have a big website or anything. If people want to see what we have, they just come to the shop. It is a very traditional way of doing business, and it suits us just fine.
