You have to go up to the third floor of Abhishek Textile Market to find us. We are in shop number 3058. The Ring Road is always a mess with traffic, so getting to the market can take some time depending on when you come. Being on the third floor means we don't get as much walk-in traffic as the ground floor shops, but we stay busy with our regular orders. The elevator in this building is often full or slow, so we end up taking the stairs a lot. It keeps us moving. The shop is packed with textiles from floor to ceiling. There isn't much room to move around once the new stock arrives. We spend most of our time counting meters of cloth and packing them for delivery. It's a lot of physical work, lifting heavy rolls and shifting boxes. The lighting isn't the best in the back of the shop, so we usually bring the fabric toward the front to see the patterns clearly. We have a small desk where we keep all our bills and papers in a bit of a jumble. It looks like a mess to an outsider, but we know exactly where every paper is. It’s just how we operate. Nothing fancy, just a lot of textiles and hard work. We mostly just talk about the market news while we drink our chai.
