Pasupati Fabrics

Our place, Pasupati Fabrics, sits right on the first floor over on Ring Road, specifically at number 155. It’s not the easiest place to find if you’re rushing, but once you climb the stairs, you’ll see where we keep everything. We spend most of our time organizing the shelves and making sure the fabric is kept clean. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s always someone around who knows where every single bolt is hidden. The light in the shop is a bit dim in the afternoons, but we know the colors by heart now. Ring Road is always a mess with traffic, so it’s actually a bit quieter up here on the first floor than it is down on the street. We’ve been here long enough that the neighboring shopkeepers are like friends. We share news and sometimes help each other out with change or moving boxes. Dealing with fabrics means a lot of dust and heavy lifting, but we don't mind the physical side of it. We mostly sell to people who have been coming to us for years. They know what we have and we know what they need without too much fuss. It isn't a glamorous job, just honest work selling cloth. Sometimes the fans don't work right and it gets stuffy, but that’s life in the market. We just keep the doors open and see who comes in.
