Parineeta Sarees

Parineeta Sarees is one of the many shops inside the J. J. A/C Market on Ring Road. We are at S-536 on the upper ground floor. The best thing about being in this market is the air conditioning, which is a huge relief during the hot months in Surat. Outside on Ring Road, the traffic is absolutely terrible, with trucks and rickshaws everywhere, but once you step inside, it is much calmer. Our shop is narrow but deep, packed with sarees from floor to ceiling. We have them arranged in boxes and on hangers, and we know exactly where every single piece is kept. Most of our day is spent unfolding sarees for customers to look at and then carefully folding them back up again. It is a lot of manual work, and our hands are always busy. We talk to other shop owners in the J. J. Market during the slow hours, mostly about the market trends or where to get the best lunch. The upper ground floor stays busy because it is easy for people to reach. We don't have a big corporate setup, just a regular counter and some stools. We've been part of the Ring Road textile scene for a long time now. We just show up every morning, open the shop, and wait for the first customer of the day. It is a steady life, surrounded by silk and cotton and the hum of the market’s cooling system.
