You can find us at number 27 in the Aditya Industrial Estate. It’s right inside the Wasanwala Compound, which is a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to it. We are near Kiran Dyeing, so you can often smell the chemicals or see the steam from their pipes. The lane itself, Mugatwala Dyeing Lane in Udhna, is always packed with tempos and people moving bundles of stuff. Our place is full of metal. We have stacks of it against the walls and bits of it on the worktables. It’s a loud environment because of the hammering and the cutting machines. We don’t have any fancy signs or a reception desk. You just walk in and find someone working. It’s usually pretty hot inside, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the roof. We do a lot of small-scale metal work and some bigger pieces when they come in. Most of us have been working together here for years, so we have a system that works, even if it looks a bit disorganized to a visitor. Udhna is a busy part of town, and we are just one of many small shops trying to get through the daily list of tasks. We take a break for tea when the vendor comes around, then it's back to the noise and the metal until it’s time to lock up. The area is always cramped but it has everything we need to get our jobs finished.
