Lace Palace

If you know Zampa Bazaar, you know how packed it gets, especially around Morkass Mohalla. That’s where Lace Palace is. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and honestly, the shop hasn't changed much over the years. We have rolls and rolls of different laces stacked up to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze inside because we try to fit as much as we can into the space. When the sun hits the street, it gets really hot, and we usually have a couple of old fans humming in the corners. Customers come in with scraps of fabric trying to match colors or find a specific pattern. Sometimes we have it right away, and other times we have to dig through the back piles for twenty minutes. It’s a noisy neighborhood with scooters honking and people shouting out prices. We don't have a fancy website or a digital system for everything; we mostly just know where everything is by memory. My hands are usually a bit tired by the end of the day from cutting and measuring yards of trim. We talk to the neighbors a lot, and we usually share tea in the afternoons when things slow down for a minute. It’s a simple business. We just sell lace to people who need it for their clothes or their home projects. It’s nothing more and nothing less than that.
