Kandeel - The Revolving Restaurant

You have to go inside the Tex Palazzo Hotel to find us. We are right on Ring Road, specifically inside the Surat Textile Market area. It's a very busy part of the city with all the cloth trade going on. The main thing about our restaurant is that it actually revolves. It’s been doing that for a long time. It’s not a new high-tech gadget; it’s just how the building was made. You get to see different parts of the city while you sit at your table. We don't have a team of fancy chefs in tall hats. It’s just our local cooks making the food we’ve always served. The machinery for the revolving floor sometimes makes a little noise, but that’s just part of the charm. People come here for birthdays or just to see the view of Surat from above. We don’t do a lot of fancy marketing. Most people know us because we’ve been here in the textile market for ages. The hotel lobby can be a bit hectic with all the business travelers, but once you get up to the restaurant, it feels different. We try to keep the windows clean so you can see out, but with the city dust, it’s a constant job. It’s just a unique place to have a meal. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. We just provide a seat and a view.
