Kailash Parbat

Being on the third floor of V R Mall on Citylight Road means we see a lot of people every day. Surat is a city that loves to eat, and being inside the mall, we get everyone from families on the weekend to people just taking a break from shopping. The mall environment is its own world, with the bright lights and the constant hum of the air conditioning. We’re right there in the middle of it. Our spot isn’t hidden; you can find us pretty easily once you get up to the food court area. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the pace when the mall gets crowded on Saturday nights. We serve a lot of snacks and the kind of food that Kailash Parbat is known for. We don't have a view of the street, but we can see the whole floor from where we stand. The staff is always moving, clearing trays and bringing out orders. It gets loud with all the chatter and the music from the mall speakers, but you get used to the noise. Citylight Road outside is always jammed with cars, but up here it’s just the flow of people looking for something to eat. We just focus on getting the food out and making sure the tables are ready for the next group. It’s a different kind of life than a street shop, but we’re used to the mall routine now.
