Jay Jalaram Kathiyawadi Lodge is down in the Magdalla area of Surat. We are located right opposite the V R Mall, which is a big landmark around here. There is also Saraswati School nearby, so there is usually a lot of activity on the street. Being at zip code 395007 means we see a lot of people coming and going. The lodge is a simple place for anyone who needs to sit down and have some food. Kathiyawadi style is what we know. We don't try to be something we are not. The lodge has been here across from the school for some time. You can hear the kids playing during recess if the wind is right. The traffic near the mall can be a bit much sometimes, especially on the weekends, but that is just Surat for you. We mostly just keep to ourselves and focus on the work in the kitchen. It is a lot of chopping and cooking every single day. We don't have fancy decorations or a big marketing plan. We just open the doors and see who walks in. It is an honest living.
