Essar

We are located at Tagore Nivas in Cuttack, right at the Bijupattnaik Chhak. The building belongs to S. Swain and it has been our home for Essar for quite some time. Cuttack is a city with so much history and the streets are always full of life. Being at the Chhak means we are at a major intersection, so there is never a dull moment outside. You can hear the rickshaws and the chatter of people all day long. The humidity here in Orissa can be quite a lot, so we have our fans going full blast most of the year. Our office inside Tagore Nivas is simple. We have the usual things like desks and computers, but it feels lived-in. There are stacks of files and maybe a few tea cups waiting to be washed. We don't try to impress anyone with how the place looks. We just focus on getting our work done every day. The neighbors in the building are friendly and we often exchange nods when we meet in the hallway. It is a very local way of doing business. We know the shopkeepers nearby and where to get the best snacks in the afternoon. Working here feels like being part of the city's pulse. It is crowded and noisy, but it is home to us and we wouldn't have it any other way. We stay busy and keep things moving.
