Aim Collection

Our shop is No. 3094 inside the Vanakar Textile Market on Ring Road. It’s one of those busy places where you have to watch your step because there are always people moving bales of cloth around. We keep our collection here, which is basically just a lot of different fabrics and ready pieces we’ve picked out. The space is small, so we have to be organized, though it doesn't always look that way during the middle of the day. We spend a lot of time talking to traders and people looking for specific types of material. It’s a lot of back and forth, checking prices and looking at quality. We don't have fancy lights or a big display window. It’s more about what’s on the shelves. Ring Road is always a bit of a headache with the traffic and the noise, but that’s just part of being in the textile business in Surat. We usually have a hot tea in the morning and then start the process of opening up and showing our stock. It's steady work, and we’ve been at it long enough to know the rhythms of the market. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just running a shop and trying to make sure the stock moves. It’s a simple business for us and we just take each day as it comes.
