Zainab Restaurant

Our little spot, Zainab Restaurant, is located in the Local Building in Nowgam. We are right by the Tehsil Office in B K Pora, which makes us a busy place during the day. A lot of people coming for their paperwork stop in for a bite. Srinagar has its own rhythm and we just follow it. We make the kind of food we grew up eating at home. It’s nothing complicated. The kitchen is small but we manage to keep things moving. We’ve been in this part of Nowgam for a while now. The winters here get cold so we try to keep the place warm for anyone who walks in. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure things run okay. Sometimes we run out of certain items by the afternoon if the crowd is big. We don't use any fancy machinery or anything. It's mostly hand-cooked stuff. The building itself is pretty plain. We don't have a lot of signs outside. Most people in the area know where we are. We see the same faces almost every day. It feels good to be part of the local community here. We just want to do our job and make sure nobody leaves hungry. It is a simple life and a simple business. We don't aim for much else besides serving our neighbors in Nowgam.
