Alka Salka Restaurants

Alka Salka Restaurants is located on Residency Road, right across from the DIG Traffic Office. We are quite close to Dal Lake, which is the heart of Srinagar. You can feel the mountain air even when the road gets crowded with cars and people. We’ve been serving food here for a while. The restaurant has a simple look. We don’t have those fancy modern interiors. We prefer it that way because it feels more like home. We get a lot of locals coming in for a quick bite, and also tourists who are heading toward the lake. The menu is mostly what we grew up eating. We try to keep the spices right and the portions fair. Sometimes the service is a bit slow when we’re packed, but we do our best to keep everyone happy. Running a place in Srinagar has its challenges, especially with the weather and the busy tourist seasons. We just keep the doors open and the stove going. If you are walking down Residency Road, you’ll see us near the traffic office. It’s a busy corner of the city. We don't do much advertising. Most people find us by just walking past or hearing about us from a friend. We just want to offer a seat and a warm meal to whoever walks in. It is a humble place with a lot of history.
