Sumah Devta Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Gurha Brahmna, over in the Gujja Peer and Lahrian area. We are located at Sham Lal’s place, which is where we do most of our administrative work. This part of the country is very focused on the land, and we are no different. We chose the name Sumah Devta to reflect our local roots and the respect we have for our surroundings. Our office isn’t much to look at; it’s just a practical space where Sham Lal keeps the folders and where we sit to talk about the season’s harvest. We have a lot of local farmers who are part of this group, so there’s always someone stopping by to ask a question or drop off some paperwork. The roads around Gujja Peer can be a bit rough, but we are used to it. We don’t have a team of experts in suits; we are just people who know how to grow things and want to make sure our efforts are worth it at the end of the day. Some days we are very busy with the planting schedules, and other days we just wait for the rain to stop so we can get back to work. It’s a simple cycle that we’ve been following for years. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to make sure our local farming community stays strong and can support our families. It is honest work.
