Uri Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are based in Najar Mohalla in the village of Noorkha, which is part of the Uri area in Baramulla. Our office is just at Mohd. Saleem Khan’s place. It’s a pretty remote part of the country, and life here is lived at a different pace. We started Uri Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited because we realized that farmers out here in the border regions often have a harder time getting things done. We are just local people who grow crops on the hillsides and try to make ends meet. There are no fancy offices or corporate slogans here. We mostly just talk about the price of fuel, the state of the roads, and whether the rain will come on time this year. It is honest, hard work and we don't try to make it sound like anything else. We help each other out with seeds or tools when someone is short. Sometimes the paperwork is a bit of a struggle for us, but we manage to get it done somehow. Being so far from the big cities, we have to rely on ourselves and our neighbors a lot. We don't really do any promotion or advertising. People in Noorkha know where we are and what we are doing. We are just trying to keep the farming community together and make sure we can all keep working our land despite the challenges of living in such a mountainous and quiet place.
