Nowpora is one of those places in Srinagar that never seems to go quiet. We are right here at Khayam Chowk, which is a pretty famous spot for anyone looking for something to eat in the evenings. Most people know this area for the smoke from the grills and the smell of spices in the air. We’ve been part of that scene for some time now. Our place isn't big, but we try to fit everyone in when the dinner rush starts. It gets pretty hectic around the main chowk, especially when the traffic gets backed up and the horns start going. We just keep our heads down and keep the kitchen moving. People come by for the kebabs and the regular stuff we’ve been making since we opened up. There aren't any fancy decorations on the walls, just tables and chairs for people who want to eat and go about their business. Sometimes we run out of things early if it's a busy Friday, but that's just part of the job. Being in this part of town means you meet everyone from everywhere. It is a good spot to see the city life while you have a meal. We don't spend much time on anything besides the food. It's a simple restaurant for folks who just want a decent plate of food without any fuss or waiting around for too long.
