Up here in Chowkiandarhal, life moves at its own pace. Seven Lakes Farmer Producer Company Limited is basically just us neighbors trying to make sense of the market. Intikhab Ahmed is the one who keeps everything moving along from his spot in Malikan. We have got some beautiful views around here with the lakes nearby, but you can't eat a view. Most of our time is spent worrying about the crops and how to get them down the road when the weather turns bad. The roads aren't always great, especially after a big storm, so we have to work together to get things moved. We are just local people who have been farming these small plots of land forever. We don't use any big words or have complicated plans. We just plant what we always have and hope for a decent harvest. Sometimes we sit around and drink tea and talk about why the yield was low or how the pests are getting worse this year. It is a slow process and there is always something breaking that needs fixing. We didn't start this to be some big company, we just wanted a way to talk to buyers as a group instead of one by one. It is a hard way to live sometimes but we are used to it by now. The work is tough but at least we are working for ourselves and our neighbors.
