Royal Batoo Restaurant is actually inside the Hotel Royal Batoo over in the Dalgate area of Srinagar. The specific spot is Kohenkhan Khayam, which is a name you’ll hear a lot if you spend time around Dalgate. The 190001 postcode covers a lot of ground, but we are right there in the thick of it. Since we are part of the hotel, it's not too hard to find us once you get to the right street. Srinagar can be a bit tricky to navigate if you aren't used to the layout, but Dalgate is a major point that everyone knows. The restaurant has its own feel, separate from the rooms, but we share the same roof. It’s a practical location for people staying nearby or just passing through Kohenkhan Khayam. We don't have any big mission statements or anything like that. We just serve food and keep the tables clean. The view outside changes with the weather, and it gets pretty cold here in the winter months, but the restaurant stays the same. People come in, sit down, and eat. It’s a regular routine. Being in Dalgate means we see a mix of locals and folks from out of town. We just do our work and don't worry about being the most polished place in the city. It’s just us, at the hotel, doing what we do every single day of the year.
