Rock View

Srinagar is a beautiful place to live, and we are right in the middle of it at Dalgate. Our place is called Rock View because of where we sit. We are on the Main Bazar side, right across from the C D Hospital road. It is a very busy spot throughout the day. There are always people going to the hospital or coming from the lake. We see a lot of tourists passing through, but locals stop in quite often too. The building is old and has a lot of character. We try to keep it warm when the winter hits and the snow starts. In the summer, it is nice to watch the sun go down over the bazar. We do not have a fancy website or any of that. We just open up the doors and see who comes through. Sometimes we sit with a cup of tea and just talk to whoever is sitting there. It is a simple business. We have lived in Srinagar all our lives. We know the lanes and we know how the weather changes. Rock View is not a five-star place. It is just our place. We have some rooms and we serve some food. The beds are clean and the food is always served hot. That is usually what people are looking for when they arrive. We work long hours, especially during the peak tourist season. It is tiring but it is how we make our way here.
