Punjab Di Rasoi

We are situated right at the Main Chowk in Dalgate, Srinagar. Our place looks out over the Boulevard and we are directly opposite ghat number two. It’s a very busy part of the city with all the tourists and the locals mixing together. We call our place Punjab Di Rasoi because we specialize in that kind of hearty cooking. The restaurant isn't very large, but it’s got a good view of the street through the front windows. You can sit and eat your dal while watching the colorful shikaras on the water. We keep the place simple with wooden tables and basic chairs. It can get a bit cramped when it’s raining outside and everyone wants to come in for some hot tea and food. We do our best to keep up with the orders. The kitchen is always full of the sound of bubbling pots and the smell of fresh rotis being made. We don’t have any fancy marketing or big signs. People usually just wander in because they’re hungry after walking along the lake. It’s a family-run kind of place where we do most of the work ourselves. We’ve seen many seasons pass by here in Dalgate, from the hot summers to the snowy winters. We just enjoy being part of the daily life on the Boulevard and serving food to anyone who stops by.
