Prezlwun Farms Private Limited is over in Srinagar, specifically at House Number 28 on Lane 7 in Jawahar Nagar. It’s a bit different being based right in the city, but we are still very much tied to the land. This house is where we manage the business side of things. It’s a busy neighborhood, so there’s always noise from the main road and people coming and going. We started this because we saw a gap between the farms and the people living here in town. It’s a lot of coordination, making sure the produce gets from the fields into the city without spoiling. We don't have a big staff or a fancy lobby. It’s just a few of us working out of a couple of rooms. The desks are usually covered in papers and phone chargers. We spend a lot of time on the phone, checking with drivers and seeing what’s ready to be moved. It’s not always a smooth process. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in traffic or the harvest is late because of a storm. We just take it as it comes. We aren’t trying to be some polished corporate entity. We are just local people trying to run a practical farm business. We value the fact that we know the growers personally. It makes the long hours and the stress of the city a bit easier to handle. We just keep moving forward, one crate at a time.
