Lal Restaurant is right in the heart of Srinagar at Lal Chowk. We are very close to the famous clock tower, which is probably the most known spot in the whole city. We’ve been here for years, watching the city change around us. It’s a busy life being in the center of town. We get locals who work in the nearby offices and tourists who are out seeing the sights. The clock tower is like a meeting point for everyone. We have a simple setup inside. It’s not about being fancy; it’s about being a place where you can just sit down for a bit. The winters here are very cold, so we spend a lot of time trying to keep the place warm for our guests. In the summers, the whole square is packed with people until late at night. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know us because we’ve been here at this location for so long. It’s a family-run kind of thing. My staff knows most of the regular customers by name. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep the kitchen running well. It’s a noisy, busy, and lively place to be, and we wouldn't have it any other way. It's just home to us.
