Vignan Vidyaniketan

Vignan Vidyaniketan is located over in Narasannapeta, which is part of Srikakulam. Our address is easy to find for anyone living in the 532421 area. It’s a local school that serves the families nearby. The building isn't anything grand, just a regular structure with windows that let in the light and the air. Narasannapeta is a place where people know each other, so many of our students are children of people we see every day at the shop or the temple. The morning starts with the sound of students arriving on foot or on bicycles. The classrooms are simple, with basic furniture that gets moved around depending on what’s being taught that day. We have a small patch of ground where the kids play, and it gets quite loud during the intervals. The walls have some charts and drawings made by the students pinned up here and there. It’s a bit worn out in places, maybe a door that doesn't close quite right or a wall that needs some touch-up work, but it’s a working school. The teachers are mostly local folks who understand the rhythm of life here in Srikakulam. We don’t try to be anything we aren't; we just provide a place for the local kids to come and get their schooling done every day. It’s a plain and simple life here at Vignan Vidyaniketan. We just keep our heads down and focus on the lessons and the students.
