Government Degree College(Men)

This is a government college for men located in Srikakulam, specifically in the Shanti Nagar Colony near Balaga. Being a state-run institution, things are done in a certain way here. We have a lot of students from Andhra Pradesh who come to get their degrees in various subjects. The buildings are older and have that typical look you see in public offices and schools. We have 532001 as our postal code, and most people around here know exactly where the college is. It’s a place where boys from different backgrounds come to study and maybe play some cricket on the grounds when they aren't in class. The staff here deals with a lot of paperwork because that is how government places work. We don't have any flashy brochures or big signs. The classrooms are basic with wooden desks and blackboards. On hot days, the ceiling fans are the most important things in the room. It’s a very straightforward place. We offer courses that help young men get jobs or go for further studies. There is a sense of routine that doesn’t change much from year to year. People come, they study for three years, they graduate, and then a new group arrives. We just keep the doors open and the lights on for them. It is not about being fancy, it is about giving the local guys a place to learn and grow up a bit before they start their lives.
