Wood Age

We have been over here at E-38 in Lajpat Nagar for quite some time now. It’s Part-III, so it’s always busy with people walking past and cars trying to find a spot to park. Our shop isn't one of those fancy places you see in magazines. It’s a bit dusty because we are always working with wood, cutting and sanding things down to size. You can smell the sawdust as soon as you step inside. We keep a lot of our materials stacked up against the back wall, and sometimes it's a bit of a struggle to find exactly what we need, but we usually get there. It’s a small team here. We don't have anyone to answer the phones or do fancy computer work, so if we're busy with a saw, you might have to wait a minute. We mostly just focus on getting the pieces right. Some days are better than others, especially when the humidity makes the wood act up. We’ve lived in this neighborhood long enough to know all the regulars. It’s just how we do things. The floors are rarely swept perfectly because by the time we finish one job, another one starts up. We use old tools that have been around as long as the shop itself. It’s not about being the biggest business, just about staying busy and doing what we know how to do.
