Studio S.M.I.

Studio S.M.I. is tucked away at A-92 in Taimoor Nagar, which is part of the New Friends Colony area. It is a bit of a quiet corner compared to the main markets, but we like it that way. Our studio is a real working space, so it is often a bit of a mess with sketches, models, and rolls of paper everywhere. We don’t try to keep it looking like a magazine photo; it’s a place where work actually happens. There are only a few of us here, and we’ve been working together in this spot for a long time. We don't have a big HR department or a corporate handbook. We just talk to each other and figure things out as we go. Sometimes the neighbors’ kids are playing outside and it gets a bit noisy, but that’s just the vibe of Taimoor Nagar. We spend most of our time designing and thinking about how to build things. It involves a lot of trial and error and a lot of sitting around a small table debating the best way to do something. We don’t have a fancy sign out front, just a simple door that most people walk past if they aren't looking for us. We like the local feel of the neighborhood and the fact that we can walk to a few good food stalls for our lunch. It is a simple, hardworking environment where we just focus on the projects we have on our plates.
