St Xaviers High School

If you’ve ever been to the Main Chowk in Sanjauli, you know how busy it gets. St Xaviers High School is right there, near Himachal Bhawan. It’s a hectic spot, with people rushing to the market and buses honking all day long. The school is tucked into that bustle. We don’t have the luxury of a quiet, sprawling campus. Instead, we have a tall building where voices echo in the stairwells. Living and working in Sanjauli means getting used to the crowds and the narrow lanes. Our students are mostly locals who live within walking distance, dodging the monkeys on their way to class. I usually sit in the small office near the entrance, listening to the hum of the town outside. The building itself is nothing special to look at, just a sturdy place that’s seen a lot of students pass through. We have some teachers who have been around for ages, and they know all the shortcuts and the best tea stalls nearby. It’s a tight-knit community despite the noise. We don’t do things in a very polished way. If a window breaks, we fix it when we can. If the bells are a bit off, we just check our watches. It’s just a place for families who live nearby and want their kids to finish school and do well in life.
