Ganga Public High School

Ganga Public High School is tucked away in Lower Khalini, down those winding roads that everyone in Shimla is used to. It’s a local spot where most of the kids live just a short walk away. The building sits on a bit of a slope, like everything else around here. Students have classrooms that look out over the valley, though the view is often just clouds. Being a high school, the teenagers are always making a bit of noise in the corridors between periods. We don’t have a massive campus, but we make use of every bit of space we have for the students. The front gate is always a bit of a squeeze when school finishes at the end of the day. You’ll see parents waiting around and kids buying snacks from the nearby stalls. Those stairs inside are a bit steep, which keeps everyone fit. We keep the classrooms simple with chalkboards and rows of benches. Everyone knows everyone else’s name in this place. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. It’s just about getting the kids through their exams and making sure they show up on time. The winters get chilly, so everyone is usually wrapped up in thick sweaters and mufflers. This is just a plain, honest school serving the families right here in Khalini.
