We have been here at Dav Public School in Shoghi for quite a while now. Being right on National Highway 22 means there is always traffic passing by, but inside the gates, things are mostly quiet. Shimla weather can be a bit much sometimes, especially when the winter sets in and the cold wind comes off the mountains, but we just get on with things. The school building is pretty standard, nothing too fancy, just some classrooms and a playground where the kids spend their breaks. Most of us who work here live nearby or commute from the main town. It is a simple setup really. We open up early in the morning, get the heaters going if it is cold, and wait for the buses to roll in. You see the same faces every day, from the local shopkeepers to the parents dropping off their kids. It gets busy during the middle of the day with all the shouting and running around, then by afternoon, it goes back to being still. We do not have any big flashy signs, just the one out front that people see as they drive toward Shimla. It is a decent place to be, and we try to keep the place tidy. Sometimes the monkeys from the woods nearby come onto the roof, which is always a bit of a hassle for the maintenance staff, but that is just life here in 171219.
